- تصف ازدواجية الاستثنائية اجتماع القدرة العالية أو الموهبة مع إعاقة واحدة أو أكثر لدى الفرد نفسه، وتشمل الإعاقات التعلمية والنمائية العصبية والحسية والجسدية والصحية والانفعالية أو السلوكية. ولا توجد الحالتان منفصلتين، بل تتفاعلان: فقد تحجب نقاط القوة الاستثنائية الصعوبات الكامنة، وقد تخفي الإعاقة موهبة حقيقية، فينتج عن ذلك ملف معرفي غير متوازن كثيرًا ما تسيء المقاييس المعتادة قراءته.Twice-exceptionality describes the cooccurrence, within one individual, of high ability or giftedness and one or more disabilities, spanning learning, neurodevelopmental, sensory, physical, health-related, and emotional or behavioral conditions. The two conditions interact rather than exist separately: exceptional strengths can mask underlying difficulties, while disabilities can obscure genuine talent, producing uneven cognitive profiles that standard assessments often misread.
